We’re ready! We’re ready for winter to come! This week a huge chunk of the country is either under water (we’re thinking of you southeast Texas!) or getting pummeled with forest fires (stay safe Oregon and Washington!). While we all know unexpected weather is the only thing you can expect, it’s not too much to ask for a nice, calm, fall is it? Even better, we are trying to look ahead to…sigh…snow.
The National Weather Service has issued their long range forecast predictions for the 2017-2018 winter and they do not include any El Nino or La Nina event. Usually that would mean an average winter. In typical fashion, some predictors are putting a “However” behind that; some saying temperatures will be above average everywhere but the upper Midwest, and some saying “generally colder temperatures than last year”. If you’re really into the Famer’s Almanac, here’s the full article.
So now what? Well, we just have to keep an eye on the weather and pray for snow. We love this ranking of best weather apps from Techlicious. Always make sure you check out weather conditions before you head out on a long hike or outdoor adventure (even if you don’t think snow is coming, you never know what’s going on in the mountains or trails a few hours away!).
